She wanted to explain, but I didn’t give a shit about what happened before. The past was the past. Sure, it was a little strange to see someone like Holly showing up, but if Caitlin and Dylan were cool with it, and it worked for all of them, who was I to rock the boat? I mean I saw a lot of weird shit as a lawyer. A drag queen was nothing.

“There’s only one thing I need to know,” I told Dylan. She watched me with big eyes waiting for whatever I was going to say. “He’s good to you guys. Right?”

“The best. We might not have worked out, but he loves Caitlin. If I had to raise a kid on my own and co-parent, I won the lottery.”

“Then there’s nothing else to talk about tonight in regards to the person who fathered your child. Honestly I don’t know if I’m grateful he’s so good to you guys or jealous as hell.”

“Jealous? Why would you be jealous?”

“Because he gets a part of what’s mine.”

Her eyes widened in shock. I knew I’d played my hand earlier than I intended, but I felt like I had no choice. When a man shows up in drag with red balls for breasts and a pickle between her legs, a guy isn’t responsible for going caveman.

“It’s too soon,” Dylan said echoing what I’d been thinking.

“Fuck how soon it is. I haven’t met anyone like you. I haven’t met anyone like Caitlin. I sure as hell haven’t met anyone like Holly.”

“There isn’t anyone quite like Holly. She’s one of a kind.”

We stared each other down until I said, “Ask me to stay.”

Dylan bit down on her plump bottom lip and batted her eyes at me. “I don’t know, Willie.”

“You do too. Now, ask me to stay.”

“Would you like to stay?”

“Thought you’d never ask.”

With her in my arms, my lips crashed down on hers and I had wondered if she would be hesitant. I was wrong. Boy was I. Her lips parted immediately, and her tongue came out to trace over my bottom lip before mine followed hers out to play. I chased it back into her mouth with my own, and then pulled her bottom lip into my mouth and sucked, biting lightly.

“God, what are you doing to me?”

I smiled against her lips. “I hope making you as crazy as you’re making me. Once I get you to the bedroom, I’ll have you screaming over and over again.”

Dylan took a step back and smiled up at me. “I’m going to hold you to that.” Then she pulled her shirt up and over her head, dropping it on the floor beside her.

Every step she took backward, I followed, like a lion stalking its prey. I would have her screaming in pleasure until she wasn’t sure what way was up.

After several steps, she smiled and then turned and sprinted toward her room. I took off after her, and when we got there, I found her on her bed laid out waiting for me.
